Ikatan silaturrahim kita eratkan

Seminggu beraya di kampung rasa macam tak cukup. Seronok berkumpul adik beradik, sepupu, makcik pakcik dan saudara mara dekat ataupun jauh. Yang jumpa setahun sekali pun kalau berjumpa panjang perbualannya.

Makan dan minum usah diragui, sentiasa ada. Rezeki di bulan Syawal. Alhamdulillah.

Salah satu aktiviti yang selalu dilakukan di hari raya ialah kunjung mengunjungi. Sedari kecil lagi mama papa selalu bawa kami adik beradik menziarahi sanak saudara baik yang dekat atau yang jauh. Walaupun dah berjumpa di kampung, kami tetap menziarahi saudara di rumah mereka. Yang wajib pergi, rumah makcik pakcik, atuk nenek saudara.

Kata mama biar kenal saudara mara. Dulu masa kecil ada jugak masa-masa yang malas nak pergi beraya. Yelah malas nak berpanas-panas dengan baju kurung. Rancangan kat tv pun boleh tahan juga. Tapi kami adik beradik ikut je kalau mama papa pergi beraya.

Sekarang ni bila dah ada keluarga sendiri, tiba giliran saya pulak bawak anak2 kenal saudara mara. Walaupun tidak berkumpulan dengan mama papa, saya akan pastikan saya akan ziarah saudara mara. Saya rasa orang2 tua seronok menerima kunjungan. Bila dah berumur, tinggal berdua je kat rumah. Jadi bila ada yang berkunjung mereka berasa seronok.

Sempena bulan Syawal ni, marilah kita merapatkan silaturrahim dengan saudara mara mahupun rakan taulan kita. Kenalkan anak2 kita dengan amalan ini. Sambil2 tu kita mengajar mereka menghormati yang tua, kenalkan suasana kampung, sawah bendang mahupun ayam dan itik. Yelah kat bandar ayam yang dikenali hanya yang terhidang kat atas meja.

WARNING!!! ITS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS

"Once you get it, worry not the whole house will get it" errkkk..

And YES, conjunctivitis is highly contagious. Memang sangat senang untuk dijangkiti.First Muqtasaem, then Nadhirah. Next Mr Hubby and now ME!!! we can call our lil family, Red Eye Family, yehaa! 

Its hard to avoid not to be infected but here are some tips that can be applied 

1. Do not sleep together with infected person. 

How do i score?: FAIL!! how cannot sleep with my babies?

2. Avoid kissing.  

How do i score?: FAIL!! how can u not kiss such cuttie lil faces (please refer to the kids only! Adult excluded :P)

3. Wash/sanitize your hands before and after giving them the meds

How do i score?: PASS!! Easy to do

4. Avoid sharing pillows and if possible change the cover everyday.  

How do i score?: FAIL!! tak larat mau tukar hari-hari maaa

5. Avoid touching your infected eyes. And if you do, please wash/sanitize your hands

How do i score?: 50-50! kadang ingat kadang tak :)

6. If the more than 1 person got infected, please do not share your meds! Get your own eye drops etc.

How do i score?: PASS!! Giler banyak eye drops and ointments. Poning!

7. After 3 days of medication and the redness have not subsided, please consult your doctor or go to eye specialist cause you maybe have allergy with the meds. 

How do i score?: FAIL!! thats what happened to Muqtasaem. It happened that he has an allergy to the eye drops. And we only went to the specialist on the 5th day! After changing to new eye drops, the redness subsided. Alhamdulillah

8. Please rest at home! Do not try to spread it anywhere else.

How do i score? MC!!! NO??? i've got tonnes of work :(.

It goes without saying "Sharing is caring". Not just share the good things, even sakit pun kena share! Hope the Red Eye Family will be back to normal soon. InsyaAllah!

Book Fair 2010

Marilah kita membentuk budaya membaca :)
We managed to find some time to visit KL International Book Fair last Saturday. We arrived as early as 10a.m hoping that we can avoid the crowd. But to our disapppointment the crowd has already built up when we arrived. But it was not so bad.

Looking at the crowd i wonder whether the study done by Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia is correct. It was mentioned on average, 2 books were read by a person in a year and it was mostly magazines and comics. Maybe PNM should redo their research :).

I can't remember the last time i went to KLIBF, but there were 3-4 halls for this KLIBF. We brought the kids along. The first hour was ok, but slowly the kids becoming restless. Luckily there were a lot of distractions for the kids - ballons, puzzle etc.

There was this one company who rented out a number of spots at KLIBF. I think ada kot dalam 3 spots per hall! I've heard about their product for quite sometime but i kind of skeptical of the products they offer. Macam a set of flash cards (dlm beratus2 flash cards) and it costs like RM1K and above! Maybe its because of the IP or whatever but the pictures on the cards are not attractive at all. Macam dull je. From an adult perspective, its dull apatah lagi the kids. And the salerpersons were like piranha..pantang nampak potential customer..serbu and tak putus asa.

After four hours, these were our hasil tangkapan :)

Maybe this is going to be our annual event. A way to encourage the kids to love reading books. Oh another thing, i think the organizer may want to reevaluate the location. Maybe Convex for next year event.

Aquaria

While most of KLians decided to get out from KL. We decided not to add to d crowd at highways. So where do we go? Aquaria!! Finally. The entrance fee for adult is RM28 for Malaysian. I think it should be cheaper. Luckily d kids are still below 3 so its free entrance for them.
It was not so crowded, so we managed to enjoy most of the exhibits.

Nadhirah was the one who is so excited. She stopped at most of d aquarium n enjoyed watching d fish. She even didn't care if we were not around. Hhmmm..not good.



Muqtasaem on d other hand just took a peek n left. Couldnt been bother to stand n watch too long except for big fish.




At the Amazon area, they have XXXXXXXXL fish. Sooo huge. Ni mau makan sebulan pun tak habis.



Besides fish there are also reptiles n insects area. But its just too many small cages to see. I skipped most of it. Jenuh nak tgk satu2.



The best part was the underwater tunnel. Live sharks!


It was mentioned the size is 30% smaller than the normal size. Pheeww...i thought these could have swallown an adult in a blink. The tunnel is basically the main attraction n also d end of Aquaria.



There are some renovations work still going on during our visit. I hope they will put more aqua animals.maybe penguins like d one in Langkawi. N i think there should be more animal shows. There are piranha feeding time but we missed it..



Overall the kids enjoyed it! Best jugak being in KL while others get out from d town. Traffic is so clear..if n only if it maintains like this forever :)

Jalan2 Balik Ipoh (Part 2)

On day 2 in Ipoh, we decided to chill out at Lost World of Tambun. The place is a smaller version of Sunway Lagoon. Lost World of Tambun is managed by Sunway Group. The surrounding is beautiful. The park is located in a valley surrounded with limestone cliff and jungle. They still maintain the greenery. Memang sejuk mata memandang.

We arrived around 10ish in the morning and the park has just opened. Our first stop is the Petting Zoo. It housed a number of small animals like rabbit, snakes, birds, raccoon etc. Why it is called the petting zoo? i think because we can touch, feed and even hug (yang ni i tak sanggup) the animals..

The kids always enjoyed reading books on animals, so we thought they would enjoy visiting the zoo. But we we wrong!! we went into this Big cage of birds. And before we know it both of them started to cry when the birds flew near to them. Gosh..menangis melalak punya type. The bird keeper gave some grain at my palm and the birds started flocking my palm in a jiff. bukan cakap anak, mama pun terjerit. basically sebab geli :). both of the kids berkepit with Mr Hubby sambil nangis-nangis. When the keeper gave Mr Hubby some grain, the kids apa lagi..melalak tak hingat punya.

Before the Bird cage we went to Serpentarium. It is basically a glass tunnel, where it housed snakes, iguana and lizards. They were so huge i tell you. Bibi ran away when we walked through the tunnel. mama pun takut jugak, tapi buat2 berani. The kids were okay during this time. maybe because the snakes are not moving.

Then we went to Rabbit Wonderland. This part only Nadhirah cried. Muqtasaem enjoyed feeding the rabbits. Luckily we bought 2 packets of the food. YES we have to buy the food. Sib baik RM1 je for 1 packet.

Surrounding the Rabbit Wonderland, there is a stream with fish in it. They called it longkang fish. I dont know why they called it that. we can try to catch the longkang fish with the net provided. the kids enjoyed feeding the fish as well as trying to catch it using the net. i think the fish are already familiar with the net and unfortunately, no one succeed in catching any fish :). But it was fun though!.

We spent about 1 hour plus at the petting zoo alone. It was really hot but we had fun. Then we were off to the Water Park. Muqtasaem jumped in joy when he hit the pool. Nadhirah only last 10 minutes in the pool.

While Mr Hubby and Muqtasaem having fun in the pool, we had our lunch at nearby food court. The choices of food are limited and its pricey! But since we are all hungry, price does not matter.

Jalan2 Balik Ipoh (Part 1)

the long weekend is here for Federal Territory workers (yippie). Mr Hubby decided to head back to Ipoh, his hometown. The journey started a bit late in the afternoon. A lots of things need to settle before we could start our journey. Nadhirah had her 18months jab. Then we attended my cousin's newborn Aqiqah at TTDI. then we rushed to GH to visit my auntie whom just had an operation yesterday.

On our way back to Ipoh, Mr Hubby decided to had a stop at Air Panas Sungkai. it was around 6ish when we arrived at Sungkai. The hot spring is located in Felda Sg Kelah itself. The entrance fee is RM10 for adult and RM 5 for kids.

There are 2 pools, Kolam Air Gunung (the cold version) and the Hot Spring (the hot version). Kolam Air Gunung closes at 7 p.m but the hot spring closes at 10p.m. We managed to dip our feet at the hot springs. Muqtasaem enjoyed dipping his feet in the pool. there are few pools depending on temperature. ada jugak kolam utk rebus telur! hehehehhe..

Nadhirah was not really enjoying it. skit skit suruh bibi dukung..lucky me :D.

we only stayed there about 45mins, since Maghrib is approaching. But overall, its not bad at all. The place is a bit secluded and the scenery is marvelous. Yelah dalam kawasan Felda :).

We wished that we could stay longer..maybe we can plan for a day trip!

Jalan2 Naik LRT

long weekend is here..apa nak buat arini pun taktau. then Mr Hubby decided to bring the kids around KL by LRT. I said ok la..but we dont have any destination. so off we go to Jelatek station and bought the tix to Kelana Jaya. to my surprise, the LRT was full. we let go the first train, n to our surprise the second train was also full. but we decided to board it.

when we boarded the train, no seats were available. and to my surpise, no one gave up their seats for me who is holding nadhirah in my arms. sabar je la tgk gelagat org2 ni. the problem is there were youngsters..buat2 tak nampak je. i think we passed about 5 stations then only we got a seat. lama jugak the travelling time to Kelana Jaya.

Mr Hubby decided to go the head of the train. saje bagi budak2 tgk luar. the kids excited bkn main. ala2 jadik driver train. when muqtasaem saw another train from the other side, he will say " choo choo". nadhirah pun ikut...but only kuar muncung je.
mmg tkde arah tujuan that day, we arrived at Kelana Jaya, bought some drinks and head back to Jelatek. But the kids had their first..err second LRT ride!
